This simple but decadent recipe of blitz soufflé will sure to astound your breakfast guests. This has a raspberry cream sauce as a topping.

This is a luscious blitz soufflé recipe perfect for breakfast that should be made the night before; which makes it especially easy to throw into the oven when you want to impress and pamper overnight guests. I first tried this in a hidden away bed and breakfast retreat and it was one of the best breakfast meals I’ve ever had. This has quickly become a family favorite.

This blitz soufflé is very easy to make and difficult to ruin, not a soufflé that falls in the oven, so for all of you afraid to try to make a soufflé and those challenged in the kitchen, this one's for you!

This truly is a recipe that is one that deserves all the frills, a clean wonderful tablecloth, a bouquet of fresh cut flowers, fine china, folded cloth napkins and a fresh pot of gourmet coffee piping hot.

Be sure to allocate plenty of time to enjoy this savory breakfast with well rested friends and family can really enjoy each others' company. Too often we are rushing through meals and we can lose those special everyday moments that can be some of life's most precious times. Blitz Soufflé Recipe

Filling

  • 16 ounces of cottage cheese
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 8 ounces softened cream cheese

Batter

  • 1 ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 6 eggs
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Grease 9X13 inch pan. Mix with a mixer the filling ingredients well, and then set aside.

In another bowl use the mixer to beat all the batter ingredients well. Pour ½ the batter into the greased pan. Now drop by tablespoons the filling and spread evenly over the batter. Pour remaining batter over the filling layer, cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight is best.

Bake at 350 degrees 50 – 60 minutes. Take out of oven and let sit for 10 minutes for cutting and serving.

Topping

  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup raspberry jam or preserves

If you need to make more topping just use equal portions.

Cut into squares and serve on a plate, then drizzle the luscious topping over the soufflé and wait for the compliments to begin! Complete the meal with a bowl of fresh raspberries on the side with a generous dollop of whipped cream.

Fresh squeezed orange juice and a cup of hot steamy coffee will give this special morning a time to be remembered among close friends and family. Linger a while at the table, don't rush, enjoy each others' companionship.
